Optical insert for Rudy Project SPINSHIELD / KELION / ASTRAL glasses
Rudy Project has developed RX inserts that can be placed behind Rudy Project polycarbonate lenses. Thanks to our patented "easy-in easy-out" system, our inserts can be easily inserted and removed.
- Before installation, the clip must be appropriately shaped depending on the model of glasses to be mounted.
- Once established, adjustment parameters (PD and H) can be determined and final considerations related to the installation of progressive lenses taken into account.
- Before removing the clip to adjust your ophthalmic lenses, be sure to take the correct horizontal axis standards with you.
- When using an RX optical insert, the inter-vertex distance is reduced: this should be taken into account before inserting ophthalmic lenses.
- The angle of the RX optical insert may vary depending on the design and geometry of the glasses on which it is mounted. It is always much higher than in the case of regular glasses. This causes a horizontal prismatic deviation that increases with the strength of the lenses. Rudy Project generally recommends using the horizontal lens shift as follows: +1.00 mm per eye for negative correction / -1.00 mm per eye for positive correction
- If the value of spherical lenses is greater than +/- 3.00 diopters and Rudy Project frames are packed high, the required horizontal prismatic compensations and reduced apex must be taken into account.
- Before fitting ophthalmic lenses, it is always recommended to check the centering of the lenses placed in the frame on the clip.
- To get the best result when calculating lenses for the clip, Rudy Project suggests referring to the glasses already used by the patient: this way, adaptation to the new device will be faster and easier.
- Rudy Project recommends fitting ophthalmic lenses with spherical geometry.
